Our Events
Something Sweet Dessert Cafe is committed to community involvement. We sponsor many local artistic endeavors, athletic events, youth programs and community groups. We even help to organize some of the events you see in and around the City of Middletown. We are participants in and supporters of the Middletown Farmers' Market, held Saturdays from Mid-June through Mid-October. The Market is on Erie Way, near Middletown Lanes.
Run 4 Downtown
With its inaugural race in August 2006, the Run 4 Downtown will celebrate its 7th anniversary on August 18, 2012. Contact run4downtown@hvc.rr.com for further information.
Founded by and chaired by Dave and Anna Madden, the R4DT is a 4 mile run/walk beginning and finishing in Historic Downtown Middletown, and is held on the third Saturday of August each year. Proceeds from the event support community revitalization projects. In the summer months you can see bright blue banners hung throughout Downtown Middletown; they were purchased with the proceeds from the 2008 event. The City park at 13-15 North Street is getting a major rehab courtesy of funds from the past two R4DT events. Existing concrete walkways and stairs will be replaced with ornamental pavers and bluestone stairs, lighting will be improved and plantings will be enhanced. Visit the R4DT website for more details.
